Northern Wilds Margarita

About the Recipe

Margaritas are the drink I have found easiest to replicate with NA products, and I am not talking about the mocktails of yore where you just throw seven up and lime in a fancy glass and call it a day. Thanks to some great NA agave-based offerings, NA margaritas these days can capture all of that sun-soaked agave flavor you expect in a traditional tequila drink.

Two of my favorite products on the market right now are Ritual Zero Proof Tequila and Monday Mezcal. I tried this recipe out on some old friends we were visiting in northern Canada, who threw me a Mexican fiesta-themed birthday party. I made a big pitcher of the Northern Wilds but was a little worried folks wouldn’t like it because of the strong smokiness of the Mezcal. But the mango and lime mellowed it to where the mezcal was simply a welcome accent. Before I knew it, the pitcher was gone, and the Northern Wilds was born, named after its birth home in the mountains of British Columbia.
